About the role

As an Application Analyst, you will help ensure that RBA’s business applications are stable, reliable and effectively support the Bank’s business processes.

You will develop a strong understanding of the applications in your area, how they interact with other systems and how they are used by the business. You will analyze incidents and user requests, resolve application-related issues or coordinate their resolution with other IT teams and external support when needed.

The role goes beyond day-to-day support. You will analyze recurring issues and application performance, contribute to application changes and implementation of new solutions, collaborate with testing teams, and take responsibility for changes and releases related to applications in your scope.

You will also maintain the documentation, procedures and operational knowledge required to keep applications running effectively and continuously look for opportunities to improve their stability and performance.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Analyze and support business applications and the processes they enable
  • Investigate application incidents and user requests as second-level support and coordinate resolution with third-level support, vendors and other relevant teams when needed
  • Analyze recurring incidents and application performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve stability and performance
  • Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of applications, modules and integrations
  • Work closely with QA and testing teams on test planning, test cases, issue analysis and resolution
  • Act as change owner for relevant application changes and ensure they are properly managed throughout the change process
  • Coordinate releases for applications in your area of responsibility in accordance with defined release procedures
  • Configure or modify applications using vendor-provided or internally developed tools where applicable
  • Define and maintain operational procedures for applications, including scheduled processing and other application-specific activities
  • Maintain accurate application documentation and knowledge about the systems in your scope
  • Monitor applications to ensure alignment with relevant IT standards and policies

What You’ll Need

  • Experience working with business applications, application support or a comparable IT environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues systematically and identify their root causes
  • Good understanding of how IT applications support business processes
  • Experience working with databases and the ability to use data when analyzing application issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with users, IT teams and external partners
  • A structured and organized approach to work, including the ability to manage priorities
  • Client- and result-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership
  • Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn new applications and technologies
  • University degree in information technology or another relevant technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Core Banking Systems (CBS)
  • Experience with other banking applications or a good understanding of banking processes
  • Experience supporting applications that integrate with multiple other systems
  • Experience configuring or adapting applications using specialized tools
  • Experience with application change and release management
  • Experience participating in implementation or integration of new application solutions
