About the role

As a Senior IT Controlling Specialist, you will play a key role in creating financial and operational transparency across RBA’s IT organization.

You will work at the intersection of IT, Finance, Controlling and management, helping ensure that IT resources — including OPEX, CAPEX and internal capacity — are planned, monitored and used effectively. Through budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting, you will provide the insights needed for informed decisions about IT investments, costs and resources.

An important part of the role will be developing and maintaining the IT Dashboard as a central source of management information, bringing together financial and operational indicators and turning data into clear insights for IT management, RBA and RBI Group stakeholders.

You will also contribute to cost optimization, resource and capacity transparency, and continuous improvement and automation of IT controlling and reporting processes.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinate the preparation and ongoing management of the IT budget, aligned with RBA’s business plan and IT strategy
  • Monitor actual IT costs against budget and forecast, analyze deviations and provide clear recommendations to management
  • Prepare financial analyses, forecasts and management reports supporting effective allocation of IT resources
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve the IT Dashboard as a central source of information on IT performance
  • Ensure quality, consistency and integration of data used for management and Group reporting
  • Prepare regular reporting and presentations for IT management, RBA governance bodies and RBI Group stakeholders
  • Coordinate IT financial processes with Finance, Controlling and Accounting, including cost allocation, monthly closing and accruals
  • Work with project managers and budget owners to ensure transparency of project and operational IT spending
  • Provide data and analytical support for IT resource, capacity and demand planning
  • Work closely with Procurement and IT teams to identify and evaluate opportunities for cost optimization
  • Coordinate relevant IT reporting requirements toward RBI Group and support continuous improvement and automation of recurring reporting processes

What You’ll Need

  • Relevant professional experience in IT controlling, financial controlling, budgeting, management reporting or a comparable analytical role
  • Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost management and financial analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial and operational data into clear management insights
  • Experience working with complex datasets, management reports, KPIs or dashboards
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Ability to understand IT organizations, IT cost structures and the relationship between technology investments and business priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and a structured, accurate and practical approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with IT management, Finance, Controlling, Accounting and other stakeholders
  • Proactive and result-oriented approach with the ability to identify deviations, investigate their causes and drive follow-up actions
  • Fluency in English
  • University degree in technology, mathematics, economics/business or another relevant field, or equivalent relevant professional experience

Nice to have

  • Experience in banking, financial services or another complex or regulated environment
  • Previous experience with IT budgeting, IT cost allocation or technology financial management
  • Experience preparing management information for senior or executive management
  • Experience developing dashboards or improving and automating reporting processes
  • Experience working in an international or Group reporting environment
  • Understanding of IT project portfolios, resource planning or demand/capacity management
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile principles or project-delivery methodologies
